How It Works
RIB Club is a private members’ club, not a boat rental operation. Membership is based on shared access to a professionally managed fleet, supported by experienced staff and infrastructure working year-round.
Our focus is simple: to deliver reliable, high-quality boating that feels effortless for members — while everything complex is handled behind the scenes.
How the Season Really Works
While boating is most visible in summer, much of the work and investment happens well before then.
Winter & Spring
This is the busiest operational period. Boats are lifted, serviced, maintained, inspected, and prepared. Engines, hulls, safety systems, moorings, insurance, staffing, and logistics are all addressed in advance of the season.
Boats are taken out of the water on a rotating basis, ensuring fleet availability throughout the year and allowing boating to continue even in the winter months.
Summer
During the season, boats are clean, fuelled, bookable, and fully supported. The ease of summer boating is the result of months of preparation carried out earlier in the year.

Membership Fees & Planning
Membership fees support the entire annual operation of the club. While usage is highest in summer, the majority of costs occur in winter and spring, when maintenance, servicing, staffing, insurance, moorings, and fleet investment take place.
By investing early in the season, the club ensures that members experience reliable, high-quality boating from the very first day boats are in use.
Renewals & Availability
Membership renews on each member’s anniversary date, but the club’s planning and financial cycle is driven by winter maintenance and long-term fleet preparation.
A high proportion of members renew at the beginning of the year, and referrals from existing members are prioritised. As a result, availability becomes very limited after spring, once planning and investment for the season are complete.
For this reason, membership cannot usually be joined mid-summer or at short notice. This structured approach helps protect availability and standards for existing members.
What Membership Provides
Membership gives access to a fleet that is maintained, operated, and managed to a professional standard.
This includes preventative maintenance and servicing, safety compliance, cleaning and preparation, operational logistics, and on-water support when required.
Boats are not simply made available — they are actively managed so members can focus solely on enjoying their time on the water.
Standards & Shared Responsibility
Every boat is treated as if privately owned, but managed with the discipline of a professional operation. Wear is monitored, issues are addressed proactively, and standards are maintained consistently.
The club works because it is a shared system built on mutual respect — for the boats, the team, and fellow members. can focus solely on enjoying their time on the water.
Events & Community
Alongside boating, RIB Club organises a programme of high-quality social events throughout the year, both on and off the water.
These include on-the-water social days, informal cruising meet-ups, golf days, and seasonal gatherings. Participation is always optional, but these events are a valued part of the wider club experience.
A Long-Term Club
After more than 17 years, the club’s focus remains unchanged: to deliver high-quality boating without the cost, complexity, or unpredictability of private ownership.
When a member steps aboard mid-season and everything works seamlessly, it reflects months of careful, often unseen preparation.
